Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society is dedicated to enhancing people’s lives by creating communities that provide affordable, safe and secure housing. We are working hard to create more affordable homes throughout Metro Vancouver to address the region’s housing crisis

We are pleased to announce that ENF’s first redevelopment project at 1656 Adanac Street was submitted to the City for Development Permit approval on October 3, 2022. Alma Blackwell was one of the first buildings built by ENF in the late 1980s. The building will be the Society’s first project to provide more affordable housing in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood of Vancouver.

The proposal would create a new six-storey building with 97 units of affordable rental housing for women, families, seniors and people with disabilities. Through this development, there will be an increase of 51 affordable rental units to enable community members to live in safe, secure, affordable rental housing in Vancouver for years to come.

The project has been approved for funding from BC Housing under the Community Housing Fund Program and will provide 20 percent of units at a deep subsidy rate for those on income assistance, 50 percent will have rents geared to income, and 30 percent will be rented at low-end-of-market rents.

The project is now open for review and comment on the City of Vancouver’s website until December 5, 2022. The City has also invited the community to attend a virtual open house from November 14 to November 20, 2022.
